Tuesdays with Morrie

I finished Tuesdays with Morrie sometime last week. It was an incredible story. I cried several times, which isn't unusual, but it is a sign of a good book. If you don't know, the book is a true story of a guy who finds out his favourite professor from university is dying. That book's really popular in Korea. One of the book clubs at our school read it. Based on what you said, I think I'll give it a try if I come by it in the future.

I mean, how functional is it when we only find out what's good for us (and others) in life when we can no longer undo the years and years of looking at it the wrong way.

Do you ever feel like things are moving too fast in life to try and work out these things? Often I feel like I'm trying to hold onto important ideas, but I can't (or won't) slow down long enough to dig into them deeply enough. I always say I want to make more time for it, but I rarely do. You're right; it's not functional to save all that introspection for the last years of life. It's hard to get those priorities straight.

Yeah, I do think that life moves too quickly, at least in our society. But I think that is part of the problem. We could really stand to slow down once in a while to just think about what we really want to achieve and if we are achieving it. Having said that, it is hard to remember to do with all the activity going on ( ... )
