That's it. Princeton is out. I can't stand the thought of another four years with normal people when I could go be happy with the weirdos at MIT or CalTech ( Read more... )

Flip a coin. Go to one for undagrad and the other for grad.

Personally, I'd go to Cal Tech and do spacey stuffs. But go where you want.

This is also true, as I must keep reminding myself. But undergrad and grad are oh so very different - and I don't even know what sort of grad stuff I might be doing...

wait... so princeton people were normal? and by normal you really mean... dense? shallow? but yay for at least making one choice! you'll be so fantasticaly happy at either place, so as much as making the decision now is tough, you at least know that you really can't make a wrong one. anddd you have to consider, do you want your friends/ family (or maybe just friends?) to be able to visit? if so, go MIT. :) i'm a little biased. you know, considering bates is in the east and all ;P

neither dense nor shallow - those that i interacted with seemed reasonably intelligent and friendly - but not of that weird quirkiness that is common at MIT and CalTech and which i find appealing because that's how I am too. =D ( ... )

i stand by what i said before--i think you should go to Cal Tech. it would be good to get out somewhere new, that is different. you will do great at either place, but cal tech, imo, is happier, sunnier, and more of a risk.
