Had a nice, relaxing weekend spent largely at home... Friday night I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End, which was quite entertaining. Captain Jack Sparrow was certainly amusing, and Miss Elizabeth Swann kicked some major ass. Like that scene at the beginning when she removed 10+ weapons concealed about her person. Heehee!

Saturday I... ( Read more... )

Definitely better than Pirates 2, but none could be as good as the first. Do you think they'll make another one? I hope not, the theme seems to be quite worn out at this point.

Mmm, I think you'll be happiest in EC. You'd have more fun with crazy-creative kids who love building stuff than with the in-crowd that seems to prefer Baker. What?!? REFRIGERATORS?!? Wow...

If they do make another one, it better be all Jack and Geoffrey Rush and a little Elizabeth. Orlando Bloom is very pretty, but he's a terrible pirate ( ... )

Agreed. Terrrrible pirate. He's the straightforward, true-blue type.

Don't worry to much about it or you'll end up with a mask. (Oh, no - phonies!!) If you act like yourself, you'll attract friends who are worth the time spent with them.

True dat. On the other hand, one must learn to be able to socialize and get along with many types of people, as one often cannot choose one's coworkers and colleagues in the real world, beyong quitting a job that is absolutely miserable. And like I said, now that I have the chance, I want to try out many things. I want to see if I can go to a frat party, act myself, and develop lots of friends, or if instead I find my true friends among the non-mainstream types, or a certain subgroup like the autotech guys or the computer geeks. College is a time for exploration and figuring out who you are, so I want to do just that. Especially since I didn't get the chance to do so in high school. But I have no intention of ending up with a mask, although I do intend to develop my (already considerable) social flexibility, which may seem mask-ish but is more like putting on different makeup colors to match the outfit or take advantage of the lighting ( ... )

It sounds to me like you prefer BC, the way you're going on about what they do...

You mean EC? Yes, perhaps. Although Senior Haus is much like it in culture, and I can live there without missing out on EC stuff - it's right across the street, and you always know when something's going on because even if you don't hear the power tools for days beforehand, I'll certainly see things while passing by on the way to class. I'm just worried that it might be easier to live in Baker and have friends elsewhere than to live in EC or Senior and have friends outside the EC/Senior/Random culture.

But I kind of jumped in without doing a full explanation of dorms on campus, so maybe I'll go back and do a full entry on that, which will help me rehash things as well.

I mean, it sounds to me like you prefer the one that builds rollercoasters and whatnot and allows prrrrrows!

No, Burton-Conner: it sounds to me like you prefer the one that builds rollercoasters and whatnot and allows prrrrrows!
