I don't know if any of you live in or around Portland, OR; I think if you did, I would know by now, but maybe not. But if you do live in or around Portland, OR, you should come. I am so jealous. I think Ariana Reines is my soulmate. But I'm not so close to Portland.

I would totally come to Portland to see her!... except that I'm supposed to be moving to Phoenix right about that time. Sigh.

Had to present on The Cow in my last college writing workshop. Totally caught fire & went off for 20 minutes about Freud, Tantra, Blake, the Holocaust, etc. Poetry mystifies me a lot of the time but Ms. Ariana was a revelation.

Anyway--congrats on yr good luck in getting to host her!

What is Mercury?

I have no idea. I wanted to provide a sample of her work but didn't have any of her books on hand (too poor to buy them), so I typed her name into google and picked my favorite of what was readily available. I hope I'm not embarrassing myself by quoting some faketoast's fake attribution.

Completely off the subject, unless the subject is secretly "Portland", I REALLY want to come up there this year for the HP lovecraft film festival.

I was pretty bummed out to have totally missed it this last fall. I was in town but had just moved here, so I didn't know anything about anything that was going on...

If you do decide to come, hit me up and we'll absolutely grab coffee or an adult beverage. Hell, depending on how comparatively poor I am I might even buy you one!
