haha! Idiots! That happened to some kids at my school when we were on a band trip vacation to St. Louis. About six kids snuck out of their hotel rooms, and upon the chaperones finding out and not being able to find them around 10pm, there ended up being an APB out in all of St. Louis for them. (Pretty much the equivalent of an Amber Alert in 1994).
The funny thing is, a clarinet fell on a girl's head earlier in the day, so one of the parents went to check on her and discovered her roommate was gone and it sparked this huge expedition to account for some 200 kids.
They were found at around 5 am hidden in the stairwell of the hotel (way to go, search team), where they had stolen an alarm clock, cigarettes and food from a vending machine, and they all had to call their parents when they were discovered. *Which, due to the time zone, was the middle of the night in VA*
Luckily, the pay phones in the lobby were right down from my window, and I got to watch. It was pretty hilarious to see them all crying like babies.
