i love it! the american fella, captain or somthing is obviously bi-sexual. its quite cool keeping in mind its a prime-time bbc1 show, probably to do with one of the 3 writers having written queer as folk. ive not really spoken to anyone else whoose been watching whihc is a shame. its not typical sci-fi stuff, its really funny. )-: ill miss it when ( Read more... )

I've been watching it... the pop-culture refrences are pretty cool. I do like the way it refuses to take itself seriously. Although I do think you're pidgeon-holeing it a bit much with the 'queer director, camp script' idea... honestly...

i think the idea of keeping it light hearted was probably the imput of all 3 righters, i can only remember the name of one at the mo', russel t davies, and most of his episodes hae been rubbish. i think having a bi-sexual lead is probably due to the director of queer as folk, i cant imagine the other 2 ever considering this as an idea, but it works so well!

Hold on - Chris Ecclestone is bisexual? Really? Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

S-: i think it would be sensible to consider the american fella a lead considering he travels in the tardis and had his own futuristic reality television scenario!

"Dr Who is fucking shit.
Sorry."

Gav! When you can travel through time and space and solve scooby style crimes involving aliens then you can use such words to describe doctor who.
Actually the idea of a man and a chimp travelling through time doesn't sound too bad. Your TARDIS could be a compost bin with a couple of toasters stuck to the sides.

BATMAN BEGINS SPOILERS HEREIN
Any objections to a handsome South Walean posting? NO? good. Well I missed almost all of dr Who except the last episode which was decent. Was the camp american the guy who got killed by a darlek and then came back to life after rose did something with those funny eyes? He didnt seem camp, seemed kinda macho, anyway on to my main point....

Being as you North Waleans like discussing this type of thing maybe you could clarify something for me. I was reading a review of Batman Begins where they said that Batmans parents were shot by the Joker? My good pal Kane pointed out that the guy who killed the parents was killed himself, or atleast shot. Even if he wasnt dead, the police man (Oldman) said that he had been released from prison when they all broke out. What the hell is going on?! Good film though.

yeh they changed the plot so it was the joker who killed his parent.s i suspect to give his character a bit more depth when they do a sequal (not the original batman!).

also the american guy was bi-sexual not necessarily camp. there was a few references to this in the last epsiode, you should have spotted it fool!

hows your holidays going? herd off anyone yet? kirsty rang me up realllllllllly drunk just before i left, she said she loves and misses us both.

OOOOOOO! You do have to love the fact that I was kind right about the whole "Captain Who" spin off thing. Although it is called Tourch Wood and is set in Cardiff and not yorkshire. Ah well, close enough!
