The civilized world must not sit by silent while Iran savages the freedom of its citizens. Something must be done. Not warfare or embargoes; those do nothing but hurt the people. There needs to be a way to punish the twisted old men who would have their way of deceit and falsehoods and evil go unchallenged until the sun goes cold. We Americans ( Read more... )

for me, It is not that I don't care - stood in reverence all too briefly last night at Union Square. I think the best that could be done is an entirely new internationally monitored election, but sadly, I doubt they'll get it. Agree entirely abut the sanctions - a better way must be found. I've no idea how, though.

I had some hope but this morning Khameini basically said it's over and that people have to STFU or else. I think that the best thing any US individual can do is keep reading, commenting and watching. As long as the MSM thinks the events in Iran are drawing viewers and improving their numbers they will consider it "news" and keep the story alive. The more the world watches, the harder it will be for Ahmadinejad and Khameini to kill their own people. It didn't stop Tienanmen Square, but I think the situation is different here in that Iran has the rest of the middle east and the Islamic world to consider whereas China did not have that same kind of regional or religious pressure ( ... )
