me and technology

So, this is going to seem like an awfully silly little post. but one of my favorite parts about reading journal entries of parents or grandparents is hearing about (now old) technology as it was first coming out, or as they were interacting with it. It's fun for me to even go back and read my own later, too ( Read more... )

This is so awesome. I still have a phone card too. :) I totally remember how awesome your free RAZR was, lol. Also, I feel so cheap. I apy $100 every year for my tracfone, and I just use a landline when it's available and thereby have plenty of minutes on my tracfone every year. Maybe someday I will get a grown-up phone. Maybe.

Out of curiosity, how much do you pay per month for your land line? Is it tied up with your TV and internet? We are cheap, too, in the sense that we don't have any TV service. I mean, I guess we have Netflix, but that isn't the same thing. Jon just bought a pair of rabbit ears and we can watch MeTV (old shows), the news, cartoons, KQED, cooking shows, and A LOT of foreign language channels. but that's it. hahah.

Our landline is in with our internet (we don't pay for TV either), but I think by itself it's about $15 or $20 per month. We only have local calling since we use the cell if we have to make a distance call.

Way to go! For some reason I thought landlines were more expensive than that. That's a deal.
