Yesterday was the first 'long' ride since riding to Tijuana in September, and after 5 weeks off the bike while I was back in Australia. We rode out to Point Mugu in Ventura County, and all up covered just over 100 miles/160km. Over past few days I was lucky enough to go see the Sea Shepherd docked in Melbourne at the Docklands before it takes off this weekend. Its been there for a few months, but on Saturday they head for the Antarctic to stop illegal whaling expeditions. Check out www.seashepherd.org for a much better account

I passed my qualifying exams (barely) which werent really exams at all but a horrible ordeal, making me an official 'Phd candidate'
