NEW WE ARE WOLVES ALBUM OUT IN OCTOBER. Holyshit I can't wait. I LOVE THIS BAND'S SOUND. It's like a synthesizer apocalpyse with a dash of rock and their drums have most hypnotic make-you-sway-like-a-zombie-possessed eveeeeer. Om nom nom I will devour and relish all soundwaves produced by this band ( Read more... )

lol I don't get why people think the 'alternative' label is pretencious. It's a few degrees off a fixed genre. It's a bit of a mishmash that would be a shame to pin down and butterflybox in. Giving sub labels like subterrainian underground new wave trance folk jazz... NOW THAT IS PRETENCIOUS AND BRAIN-ACHINGLY SPECFIC LABELING )o)

(and eeee!) c:

Trippy music isn't really my thing, but I know someone who would love this. Must make note to self to remember the name of this band.

I also believe indie describes a label, not a genre.

THIS. It is like one of my biggest pet peeves ever when I hear people say their favourite genre is indie. THAT MEANS NOTHING. Indie can sound like anything, not just the pastel washed out sound that people seem to associate it with. Hell, it could be indie reggaeton. Or indie hip-hop bluegrass fusion. Or indie twee-pop. Maybe you really do like every genre out there, but I really doubt it.

YEAHHHH

to me that phrase just means: "I enjoy bands who are fiscially challenged and are under the radar and struggling tooth and nail to live out their musical careers in the hideously strange and cruel world of the music industry. I listen to them and drop their names and no one but the coolest people know who they are and it makes me feel like Christopher fucking Columbus. Lalala I hope they don't go mainstream and god forbid get famous, live out their dreams, spread their awesomeness to the masses. I'd ttly lose my *~**~CRED~**~* and I'd like. break down on twitter and whine for weeks."
