ooc: Proxy All Call?

Dec 04, 2007 12:11

Am I the only one who finds it odd that we're seeing proxy all-calls from ST staff?  Invitations for those so out of the loop that they need to hear about the situation on [General-OOC] to come throw down in a battle royale?

A situation that went from a handful of private invitations to a location where some folks were held was turned into a mass ( Read more... )

I am totally with you.

I was icly copied on a fwd'ed fwd invite.

I even posted to the lists asking why I was invited...(insert generic Boot Squad quote) and I staked another PC so they wouldn't feel honor-bound icly.

The last proxy I went on was a mass cluster-f%ck...and I don't get why ST's are inviting pc's to their city to murder other PC's.

Though my character might want to go to try and stop the deaths....I have no desire at all to get involved in a huge scale proxy again.

speaking as the recently staked, i agree. what a pain in the arse. The DST just wrote and said he had 100+ proxies already. shelter island was bad enough.

at 100+ proxies, hell they shouldn't even bother running a scene... just script it.

I agree that this Atlanta situation is just one gigantic clusterfuck! I'd rather eat glass then get involved at this point...

I've always felt that way about proxies.

I've rarely seen roleplay enhanced by proxies.
I've often seen roleplay completely screwed by proxies.

Time freezes, slow turn arounds, shifty rules calls, and no real recourse to do anything about it has led me to refuse to proxy in any large scene.

Personally, if I somehow got forced into a proxy, I would pull the character out as soon as I didn't get my weekly update.

*hugs and sighs*

New goal: Get this ability. Cause apparently its the best devotion in the game. I used to think I had the fabulous devotion. This trumps.

First please don't pack it in as you are going to be one of the only folks that make my Movement ties awesome (yes, that's a little selfish, but sue me. :) )

Second, that scene should have been frozen right away given there is a dispute on how some custom Global Mechanics were used in the scene in question with no challenge or initiative (I was there so I heard it from both sides).

But I feel you on proxies. The good Mr. Remy forgot to spend my WP in the Tulsa one, and even though we all were rockstars, the Canada one bent my suspension of disbelief and scale to the edge.
