He has a way of writing that captures so many details and nuances, that I've never seen in any other writer.
If it has to be strictly non-fiction, then Naomi Klein's "No Logo"... It may be 10 years old, but it continues to become more and more relevant.

Yeah, I've had to read that twice for different classes. It makes me think about freedom in the sense of freedom to do versus freedom from ignorance and pain.
