True story: Years ago, I was on a bus with two kids, who were like 14, having an argument over who invented the phrase "Shit, son." One kid claimed he did, the other claimed it was Marlon Wayans.

Little do they know it was actually one of G.B. Shaw's favourite expressions and it found its way into several of his manuscripts. Most notably: "You think you can pass her off as a Dutchess in six months? Shit, son."
