Francesca is so right about Arielle's superpower.  She always had time to listen to anyone.  She always made you feel like your opinion, and that you yourself were  important to her at that very moment.  I strive to do that every day in my classroom because many young people think that their opinions are not valued.  I need one of those bracelets ( Read more... )

Read the book on "FISH!" philosophy. It so resonates with the concept of making the person in front of you being important in your world. Seriously.

If you are an introvert, it really can be tough to practice, though--sort of like being mindful of the inherent worth and dignity of every person....

If it helps, and I'm hoping this isn't TOO weird, I don't think there ever should be anything skinny about a woman's butt. It should be round and curved. One of my very favorite things in a movie ever was the relief of hearing Queen Latifa's character ask her daughter if some clothes made her butt look big. The daughter says, "Yes." The Queen's response is, "Good!" and she strutts out the door to take her daughter to school and herself to work.
