That's awesome that you're giving cosplaying/sewing a try now :D Although I started off just doing closet cosplays when I first got into the hobby, after seeing so many pics of amazing costumes people created themselves, I'm also really pumped to try making lots of beautiful outfits too xD I just really started working on my upcoming planned costumes very recently and am learning a lot through the process ^^ (internet is your best friend when you want advice on how to sew/create props/etc. 8D) Oooh, that sounds like a really interesting blog, I'd totally read it :3 ( ... )

Kyahahaha well I loved reading your rambling for one and YES the awesome female characters DO get undervalued no?? xD It was so bad that P. Jackson had to create a whole role around Arwen (which I thought was a smart idea). I agree with all the lasses you mention they're pretty badass, BUT STILL, I think Tolkien's society's were still pretty patriarchic which makes sense given the time and era he wrote the series and blahblah (sorry this is all because of the many gender courses I'm taking at uni loool).

LOL @ Luthien being a silly Mary Sue; so true ugh. She has everything, even as an elf, she is disgustingly perfect haha~ 8D Tolkien that ol' rascal.. bet his wife was pretty pleased though. And it's the first time I hear the story of Andreth (was it in Silmarillion? if so I must've forgotten) ;^; that's so sad.. gives me inspiration for a good RP character though, hmm interesting yes *mental note*. Also forgot that Galadriel used to kick ass back in the days... I remember reading something like that yeah that she was fierce in ( ... )

Haha, glad you didn't mind my nerdy rambling xD I can totally understand why PJ wanted to increase Arwen's role in LotR since there are very few active/prominent women in that story xD; Haha, I suppose so, since his world was also frought with many wars and stuff and it's basically all the men folks' fault for causing those xD;;; (and Tolkien being a war veteran, I suppose he wanted to portray that problem in his own stories) There WERE a couple matriarchal societies in his world though. Elven society for one is equal opportunity, but amongst men and I remember hobbits as well there were a couple female led families/tribes too. One thing I'm glad for is that even though women aren't featured that much in Tolkien's stories, those that are are pretty much always portrayed under a pretty positive light (except for maybe Mrs. Sackville-Baggins and that one female vampire Thuringwethil pffft). There's a certain idealism there I suppose, but it's not necessarily a bad thing as it's good that female gentleness and wisdom are considered ( ... )

lol as younger Galadriel and her cousin Aredhel show, not all female elves were so mysterious/wise/unearthly, though Galadriel did become that way when she mellowed out thousands and thousands of years later, but then anyone would after that long of a life xD In fact, most of the elves in the first age were considerably more "human" than the ethereal, "faded", and wizened third age elves (especially the ones that actually play an important role in any of the events of the Silm), then again, that may also be because the third age stories were told mostly from the perspective of hobbits and humans xD As for female elven pasttimes, they were pretty much the same as anything the elven men would do, depending on the personality of the female. For example, you have Nerdanel who is a skilled sculptor/artist, Luthien who liked to spend her time singing and dancing, and then Aredhel who preferred to go riding and hunting and roaming the forests and wide lands with her Feanorian cousins (Celegorm and Curufin in particular as that was their ( ... )

Ooh, I love Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle world as well *A*

Haha, awesome choices for characters to take over the life of. xD

You know, I've actually never finished a Final Fantasy game before xD; I think I've tried FFIII, FFIV, and FFXII but just couldn't get into them for some reason. I have yet to try the really popular ones though so that's probably why xD I have the same problem with MMORPGs, just can't get into them ORZ on the other hand, my sisters are completely addicted to them pffft They are so tempting though because of all the gorgeous environments and character designs *A*

Ooh, creating a sustainable energy resource sounds like a great idea :D and lol, wow would the world change if we were all telepathic xD People would have to redefine how they communicate with each other. I am personally all for it though :3

Eeee~ such a cute pikachuuu~ I shall accept it gladly, thank you x3 <3

Ooh~ Well it could be that Final Fantasy is just not your cup of tea. I on the other hand don't play a lot of single player, offline games (with the exception of Pokemon which I played to death). For some reason I can't really get hooked on a game unless it has some kind of social interaction, guess I just like talking with people or gaming with others, it makes things just that much more fun ^^ (and also addictive.. very dangerous ( ... )

Yeah~ that may be the case as I really didn't like the battle system in the ones I've tried, though I have to try some of the more popular titles first...actually the one I really want to try is Type-0 which isn't even available in English yet :( Haha, I'm the opposite and prefer single-player, offline games and can't get into social ones. xD; Mostly, I prefer really story-heavy games *W*

Loool my sisters have definitely crossed that threshold. ORZ yeah there is a great danger of getting addicted to MMOs and then spending all your time on them xD;;;

Yeah, the best thing is that you'd be able to communicate with people you couldn't have before because of language barriers and such *W*
