first of all, they are US senators, meaning they deal with National policy. As dictated by the federal constitution, that means they should NOT deal with my education or my healthcare. that would be an unwelcome encroachment on states rights and an overstep of their power in the US Senate. george lucas might even compare them to sith politicians..

i have a an education thanks to my teachers, healthcare thanks to my local medical professionals, and the funding for it thanks to the state legislature. this has nothing to do with party politics, more a basic ideological divide with everything they stand for.

for one thing, they are wildly idealist. Boxer makes it terribly hard for Californians to register at West Point. You need the signature of one senator and unfortunately she refuses to recommend anyone because she is opposed to war. So what does she propose? We defend ourselves with an army with no trained officer? Its stupid stuff like that that make her and feinstein the bane of my existence

ahh my bad. i was thinking you were doing your normal democrat bashing.

So what. West Point and the other 2 armed forces academies are facing all time lows in their applications. It's not Boxer or Feinsteins fault. Blame it on Bush and his wonderful policy with the war in Iraq (that I believe we should finish) that was started dishonestly and has since changed its motives many times. It's not Boxer's fault, unless she's keeping the other 49 states from applying too. And... there are otherways of advancing through the military. West Point may be the best, but it isn't the only way.
