I finished Back to the Future: The Game last night.
I say this every time a new Telltale game comes out, but this is the best game they've produced yet. This title has taken a markedly cinematic direction - greatly streamlined puzzles, amped-up cinematic presentation and playing with camera angles and the like. Some of this seems like it was experimented with in Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse, some of it is new. It's all very good.
As a Back to the Future product, playing with Doc's history, as opposed to Marty's as the movie's mostly focused on, seems to work very well. Specifically, the game focuses what Doc's life might have been had he been caught up with the Temperance movement, and contemplates what Hill Valley might have become had Doc turned his attention to "improving" society. As it turns out, this is a pretty good basis for a Back to the Future series of games.
Back to the Future: The Game is chilling at times, raises ethical questions at others (but never runs close to being preachy), and is always extremely fun.
