Still working my way through the recs list (and my box of comics to give you this recs list).  There are still comics I'm re-reading before I give the verdict and recommend them, and that's mostly because I remember certain books being overrated by fanboys in general, or maybe I just feel differently about them now than I did then.  Or maybe I just ( Read more... )

Hey, I found this journal by following the link from the SV Ledger to the smabble challenge, and then saw this post; I hope it's okay to comment.

I was wondering if you could expand on the sentence: "And the conclusion harkens back to Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow in a sweet way though the continuities don’t match at all, but it was the thought that counted."

I read Absolute Power and Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow years ago, so I don't really remember what continuity issues there are. Could you elaborate on that?

The main reason why I love the Absolute Power ending is because it implies that Kingdom Come Superman changes his reality to the WHttMoT reality. I don't like Clark with Wonder Woman so him changing his continuity to end up with Lois warmed my heart.

Thank you! And sorry if I've intruded on your journal.

I should've said "technically" because then end of WHttmoT is based on Silver Age Superman while Kingdom Come is based on Golden Age Superman and Superman/Batman is obviously Post-Crisis and all of those have different continuities. But I do like your explanation of why the ending rocks and I think I'll edit my post to including this reasoning. And it's never an intrusion if it strikes up a conversation like this ;)
