There's so much meta I want to (and hopefully will soon) write, especially about the alarmingly overt parallels to McCarthyism in regards to the season 10 and the Vigilante Registration Act, and then there's my Anti-Fanboy manifesto in defense of Superman and Lois Lane. There's also a vid I've already started plotting and gathering clips for that

I'm intrigued by the parallels between the VRA and McCarthyism, as I had a vague notion that there was something about the VRA that was familiar but couldn't place it - of course it's McCarthyism. What I loved so much about 'Bulletproof' was that while Clark was going undercover to solve the shooting of John Jones, it gave him AND us the chance to see how the regular boys in blue view the heroes; they're the ones on the front line, and the heroes are the ones who get the glory. Having Clark - who will be the world's greates hero - learn all this just adds to the layers of the story, because he is the most obvious alien on the planet and yet is willing to sacrifice so much for the planet he calls home.
Gonna think about this some more and maybe try to be a bit more coherent when I comment next time, lol.

I actually quite love Bulletproof for many reasons, and that one being amongst one of them. But mainly I love Clark going undercover on his own and I love that Clark's character (re: ethics) was reflected in the regular (Oliver actually doing the right thing because it's what Clark would do) and guest starring characters (Turpin doing the right thing because Clark believed he was a good cop) throughout the episode. Plus the "Capes" sentiment actually helps lead a bit of creedance to the legitimate criticisms AGAINST vigilante superheroes (thus making it important for the country/world to have a hero that is somewhat sanctioned by the government even if not operating solely for it.)
