Unfortunately, I have two Republican senators, Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson. They give pat responses to my complaints, but I keep sending them nonetheless. It was good to see the one independent on the list.

Jim Jeffords is my hero - I actually voted for him in Vermont when he was a Republican, beacuse he was, well, Jim Jeffords. And then he switched and became the only Independent because he was so disgusted with the Reps, and I was so proud of him.

It's rough being in a state that doesn't represent your own opinions on key issues. I imagine it must feel akin to someone waving to you from shore when they see your arms flapping as you drown.

One thing I really think is going to make a difference is when the Republicans figure out how much money they can make off of climate change. I'm really counting on that happening, because I don't see how we'll make much progress...until Jeb Bush's house gets flooded.

I surfed over to your blog from angel80, and I was really impressed with how you explained the atmospheric circulation and regional climate in Australia.

I think that there actually are some climate forecasters making money working for insurance companies and the like. Some agrobusiness concerns must be looking into it as well.
