I would say twice is enough reminding, unless it's been a very long time since the last reminder (more than a year) or you're dealing with someone who may have cognitive issues themselves. You have a visual reminder in the cane; it shouldn't take that much more.

I can't believe your kids are that old already!

Yeah, the kids are starting to make me feel old! The eldest is 11 in August, wow.

Thanks, that looks like a fair guide-line. I know I'm not missing anything visually, or have some big lump were there ought not be one, but damn. And sure, I bought a cane that's damn near invisible, but still. And it seems somehow humiliating to tell someone over and over again, as though it isn't important enough to remember, or that they don't believe me in the first place. Sometimes it seems that if a person can't *see* it for themselves, then it either isn't there, or isn't important?

I never have any trouble with other people that are working under similar issues, and even when I can't remember what their issue exactly is -- they seem to respect the fact that I'll just simply ask again, with a reminder that I have a Dead Zone, but I still remembered that *something* was going on...

So if you have a Dead Zone, when do you get the psychic powers?

I still get the "young and healthy" remarks even though I am missing something visually. I get the impression that as long as you're not elderly or in a wheelchair, most people will think you're fine and malingering if you say you're not.

11!! I think the last time I saw her she was six - if that.

Bwaahaha, I've told G to have a care, for all we know I can kill with a thought now, or read minds. =)

I think that you're totally right on that one. I will say, though, that those motor carts they have in the Big Box type stores can prove fun... if ankle-bruising.

I know! Starting to feel old!
