Flashpoint - Season...wait, which Season is it? And when is CBS airing it?
No doubt some of you have seen the news about Canada's CTV airing Season 3 of Flashpoint beginning on August 6th, and are thinking..."Wait, Season 3? Didn't we just do Season 3?" Well, here's the deal...
The episodes that have been airing on CBS the past few weeks aired last fall in Canada on CTV. And they are, to production & CTV, the second part of Season 2. However, CBS decided they were Season 3 for them. And they switched the air order around (as they have done before). Why? Don't know. Other than just because they can.
As CBS has been airing these new episodes in the US, CTV has be re-airing them in Canada, to quite good ratings despite being reruns. A couple of weeks ago an episode titled "Unconditional Love" aired that hadn't yet been shown in the US or Canada. It was supposed to be a sneak peek of the upcoming Season 3, and is considered to be episode 3.01 by production and CTV. But CBS, being CBS, has numbered it 3.08 of their Season 3. Confused again? Thank CBS.
Now, here's where I get to some good news. It seems that CBS is planning to continue airing Flashpoint for the next few weeks, heading straight into the new episodes that are set to begin in Canada on August 6th. That's what seems to be happening....at this moment. CBS has changed their plans in the past in as little as a week before they were supposed to air new episodes, so...we'll just wait and see if they follow through this time.
