Short version is ION will begin airing Flashpoint in two hour blocks beginning Tuesday, October 18 at 10pm ET/PT with new original episodes. They've also acquired the rights to all existing episodes, as well as future episodes.

so does that mean cbs sold the airing right to ION since they said they might not add it to their line up when the new season airs in canada to be aired in the states?

The deal with ION airing the show was made a while back, but it was unclear at that time if CBS still planned to air the rest of the current season.

The source article says Flashpoint "...averaged a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.25 million viewers on CBS. That made it the weakest original programming on the network."

CBS seems to have been using it as gap filler whenever they wanted, but apparently they'd rather have the time slot to try out other shows. They've got a lot of well-performing shows, so Flashpoint took the hit.

aaaand it'll get even LESS ratings on ION :(

Possibly fewer viewers, but the ratings will probably be good for ION. Which means they'll keep showing it, and at consistent times.
