There will be manga spoilers in the history link. Heads up!

Name: Soul Evans, or "Soul Eater"
Fandom: Soul Eater (Mangaverse)
Background: History over here under Part in the Story.
Are you taking this character from a another RP? Nope! Starting with a clean slate!
Personality: On a basic level, Soul seems like a pretty average middle-school boy. He's kind of lazy, likes to hang out with his friends, enjoys slacking off when possible, and is just a liiiiittle impatient now and then. He's not hard to get along with, though he has a tendency to toss around sarcastic remarks. His worst quality is probably his cynicism, but he makes up for it in that he always gives his best in what he thinks matters.
On a deeper level, Soul seems to suffer from some sort of inferiority problem. His older brother, Wes, is a prodigal violinist, and though Soul is an apt piano player, he's not even near his brother's level--or so he thinks, regardless of praise. He acts indifferent toward music, but it's obvious that his love of it has permeated his very soul (literally)--after all, in his "soul room", he has a piano, and its music is what triggers the insanity of the black blood. However, though he is seemingly capable of devotion to music and his instrument, it appears likely that he's afraid of making decisions. When he discovered he was a weapon, there were a number of routes he could have taken in his life, ones that included music. Instead, he shirked off the responsibility of deciding and potentially having to bear the burden of self-doubt regarding his talents. He said instead that, given his nature, he had no choice but to devote himself entirely to his new status as a weapon and attend school for it. Even with his role as a weapon, the inferiority complex comes back to bite him, as there are weapons who seem to be more capable on their own than he is. This makes him a sad panda, and though he wants to someday reach their level, a part of him is still lingering in doubt, and makes him wonder if someday a time will come when he's not good enough to protect his own partner.
Appearance Changes (if applicable): Soul will no longer have the huge scar on his torso from the fight with Crona, because obviously his Haven self was never attacked by a gender-uncertain swordsman in a dress. 8)
Powers/Abilities: Soul is a demon weapon--a scythe. He looks human, but is capable of transforming into a scythe, both fully (EG: full scythe) and partially (EG: one arm into a blade). Additionally, since he is a Death Scythe (essentially an upgraded demon weapon), he is also capable of extra transformational powers. As far as he's aware, these are currently limited to wings on his scythe-form that allow flight, and the ability to pull more than one blade at a time from his human form. (EG: Arm with several blades.)
Family Situation: Lucky, lucky Soul. Though he joined the DWMA partly to escape his family, in Haven, he is now stuck with... more or less the same family he tried to get away from, complete with musically gifted older brother and somewhat hoity-toity parents.
Job: Since Soul is canonically about thirteen or fourteen, he'll be attending school just like he does back home. The new school obviously doesn't reap souls, however.
First Person Sample:
(Okay, um, realistically, if Soul typed this, it would be all misspelled and badly written, so I'm just going to write it as it should be written--if it went straight from his head into text.)

Okay.

Last I checked, I don't remember taking extra-curricular assignments in any towns this average. Not cool. Where the hell am I? Actually, better question--where the hell is Maka?

She's an average-looking girl with blond pigtails and green eyes, and she's wearing a blue and white school uniform. If I try to leave without her, she'll probably beat my head in.
Third Person Sample: This was not Death City.

It probably wasn't even Nevada. Soul shook his head. Had he spaced out? It sort of felt that way, only incidents like that usually ended with him snapping back to reality in time to hear a teacher finish a boring lecture on history. This seemed to have ended with him relocating to a completely different place.

Soul mentally ran over the list of extra-curricular assignments Maka had eagerly horded that morning, concluding that none of them had involved ho-hum average towns in the middle of the day. "Great," he said to himself, the paragon of all intelligence. "Now what's up?"

He took a glance around, frowning slightly. Could Black*Star have put him into one of those wheelie office chairs and zoomed him out of town? Sadly, that seemed plausible, but it didn't explain the conspicuous lack of--

"Maka?" the boy called out, just to be sure. Okay, there was definitely something wrong--uncanny, even. Something seemed off somehow, beyond just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He took a jog to the edge of the block, looking around at buildings that were unfamiliar. This looked like an American town, which made sense, but... where?

"Morning, Soul. Isn't there school today?"

He turned on his heel as quickly as he could, in time to see an ordinary woman on her way to work. He didn't know her, did he? She seemed to know him well enough...

"...that's kind of the problem," he replied, having nothing else to go on. "I don't go to school here. Where is 'here', anyway?"

She laughed. "It's the same town it's always been, silly. If you head off right now, I promise I won't tell your parents I saw you cutting classes."

"But I--"

"Your educations' important." She waved, heading up the steps to the government building to his left. "Get a move on, and you might make it back before lunch break ends. Bye!"

Soul stared, unable to respond to such a sudden onslaught of things he didn't understand. Was he dreaming? This couldn't be someone else's body--she had called him by his name, after all, and it wasn't exactly common.

There was only one way to clear up this mess, he decided. He had to find Maka, and soon.

Though I'm now playing a more-or-less current manga version of Soul, almost all of my icons are from the anime because I'm shallow. All entries prior to this one are from my previous game and have no bearing on any to come. Thanks! :>
