Thoughts .....

It’s a religious station, the first morning I realized this fact I began to listen. These occurrences, of actually being able to listen to what the Priest was saying, only happen when Alice does not need to awaken for another few hours; how she can sleep through that alarm amazes me.

Moving on … I think it proper that you should know ( Read more... )

that's long and i'm very ADD, but the part about God being younger and then maturing actually makes sense to me. I guess one of the things that always bothered me was the Diety being static and contradictory. This clears things up a bit. I might even read the rest of this later when i can focus.

Aw, thank you Patwick. I've still got some stuff to edit and kinks to remove ... but it will be pollished soon. I don't think it's that bad of a read - but I'm biased to myself sometimes... oops

Get your major in theology. If there's one thing high school has taught me, it's that when really awesome people have degrees in theology they get much more awesomer.

I might be a Skeptic (not skeptical, mind you, but reserving judgment) but I do think that how you view G-d has to be personal or else it loses all meaning. I think you have a very definite sense of what He expects of you. Does that mean your version is any better than the angry priest on the radio? Maybe. You're not trying to make a franchise out of G-d now are you? My problem is having intermediaries preventing a person from getting to the higher level of knowing, rather than teaching or encouraging the exploration ( ... )

First I want to say, that post makes me happy. ^^
and now I have some quotes to share that fit that subject.

I put no stock in religion. By the word “religion” I’ve seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of God. Holiness is in right action and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves. And goodness, what God desires is in the mind and heart. By what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man. Or not.
-Christian Knight of the ‘Holy See’

You see, none of us chose our own end, really. A king may move a man. But remember that even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say “But I was told by other to do thus” or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice. Remember that.
-Christian King of Jerusalem

First a factual point: it's the twelve sons of Jacob not Abraham.
I disagree entirely with the idea that God ages...God created the universe, within that, God created time. Therefore, God is outside of time and does not age (in that sense).
Of course the reason for God "maturing" (which doesn't make sense to me, again, because God is perfect and therefore doesn't mature...) would be to reconcile the apparent difference between the Old Testament and the New. That's one of my problems with Christianity, the need for a new path for man...If God knows the future (as he is outside of time), wouldn't he KNOW that man may have trouble with his laws? He should foresee the problem and just start off with the whole Jesus bit (I won't even get into the whole philosophical issues I have with a Jesus character).
Anyway, I figured you should have a bit of a non-Christian viewpoint, just to mess things around.

To your factual point - If you are not Christian, how is it you know so much on the faith? Possibly you used to be Christian, whatever.

Mostly ... these are my personal believes, I don't ask anyone to believe them -ever. I do thank you for actually going through and reading it, whoever you may be. Which leads me to my next question: Who are you?

Regardless you seem to have an interesting outlook on a faith you don't practice.
