A way to make it work...

We've all spent hours debating how the earth has far surpassed her carrying capacity. She really and truly is over populated. We can thank ourselves for this, the Europeans who wanted so desperately to force their way of life on every part of the world. We are the result of the European’s "success." We are so much a success because we've started ( Read more... )

"The world would be far less dense indeed."

Nah... I think the world is gonna stay dense, no matter what we do...

Aw man, I was hoping I'd actually have a chance to let my kids grow up on a farm ... or at least a large piece of land closer to neighbors. Bummer. At least I'll have kids.

Move to Alaska. I hear the penguin ranchers get plenty of land, even if half of is does melt every spring.

Jane, you are too mean. The obvious solution is just to send India to the moon and China to Mars. Those people get their own planets with plenty of room and almost enough atmosphere, and the rest of the world has a little more living space.

Eh, they'll end up getting pissed off and start getting on everyone elses nerves. Honestly I'd be pissed if someone sent me off my home planet. So we let them stay, and let those who are WILLING to leave bugger off ... as for the women having abortions, if they aren't married the child shouldn't exsist anyway, so it's the way it should be.

The war bit is only because we were watching a movie on trench warfare... and I was seeing lots of dead bodies on a screen.

umm... well... about that. while i don't agree with sex before marriage, i don't believe everything is an accident. i can think of some darling children who wouldn't be here if their parents hadn't "jumped the gun," as it were.

I'm well aware, this entry is just a spawn of a late night idea, that and I was deathly bored in Santoro's class. The abortion bit, in particular I don't agree with, I wouldn't have ever met one of the greatest guys in the universe if his mom had gone to the clinic a few days sooner.

In this entry I was just rambling off ideas that could easily make the world less populated, I really don't agree with a single one of them. I don't like war, I don't like suicide, abortion's not a good idea (but the more "pro-life" our society becomes, the less space there will be). Well, the vegetable thing - I personally refuse to live as a vegetable, but that's a personal thing.

you forgot letting gay people get married!!
letting them adopt the tons of orphans in the tons of adoption centers!

and yes. india to the moon. or maybe all the straight couples somewhere bigger..like jupiter...then they have plenty of room for breeding

and there would be no more need for 'gaydar' on earth. everyone would know where everyone stood and would be gay and happy and elect eddie izzard president.

Haha, I like your way of thinking - give the orphans good homes, however ... I like living on earth...

the world population is predicted to peak at about 11 billion sometime in the next century or so. Not because theres too many people, but because fertility rates drop as countries become more developed. People use technology instead of children, so to speak.
