Twenty-Third Birthday and Other Things
My birthday was on Sunday. <3
I was a good day. My parents got my an assload of Alaska postcards (I'm on Postcrossing, a postcard exchange program), Series 7 of Doctor Who (I can finally get caught up!) and a really nice suitcase. locoexclaimer also drew me a lovely piece of Ralph x Vanellope fanart and she called me this evening and we talked for a couple hours. It was nice.
I spent most of the day screwing around and watching Supernatural, which I adore. I'm only on Season I right now but it's really interesting and cool and creepy (I always end up watching episodes late at night in the dark for some reason, like now, lol). It's sparked my interest in the paranormal for sure. Eventually I'll write fic for it, maybe some crossover type shit. (...I can see myself shipping Dean and Belarus...)
I hate to sound like I'm bragging and all but I had an excellent birthday dinner. The restaurants in Bethel all really suck and are super expensive so we generally do dinners at home. We had Montgomery Inn BBQ chicken sandwiches, these really awesome oven fries Deb makes and a German apple cake with cream cheese frosting. Unf, so good.
Let's see other things... I'm taking four classes this semester. Intro to Psychology, a public speaking course, Intro to Poetry and Positive Social and Emotional Development. I should be doing homework for these classes right now but it's dark in my room and light carries in our house, it's late, this episode of Supernatural is wicked interesting and I'm sleepy. So I'm not gonna. I'll do my homework tomorrow. :P
Work is going okay... I had the first week of the month off for a combination of moose hunting and teacher in-services. Except for Saturday. I got asked / drafted / begged to be the classified site union rep for the high school (no one else wanted to do it) so I had to go to a training session on Saturday. I know I needed is, but damn it was boring, and the seats we were sitting in were uncomfortable as FUCK. This whole union thing is a trial basis... I may bow out come December. It depends.
So yeah that's... that's my life as it is right now.
