Musings on Aftermarket and a couple of conversion sets I really want.

I'm generally not big on aftermarket sets beyond decals and the occasional replacement canopy. This is mostly because I'm generally OK with the detail level on most kits and particularly in the case of cockpits, I don't see the point in excessive hidden detail. I've been fighting with the cockpit on my Tempest II for exactly that reason, too much ( Read more... )

I haven't check Koster, they're hard to get a good product listing on and the CMR stuff is absolutely first rate, if a little pricey.

Out of curiosity, what conversion did you do on the PB4Y-2? The Matchbox/Revell kit already produces both variants although I know there are some nice improvements available for it aftermarket.

Yeah, the Koster conversion is pretty much the only way to go in 1/48 unless you want to hunt for vacform kits, there's a lot more options for heavies in 1/72.
