The House of Emo
Moved in on August 2o 2o11
The house is a two story building in the fourth sector that has been standing unoccupied for over a few years now. It was a little run down and needed a lot of work, but after some time it will end up looking nice enough. The house was officially bought by Jinx to which she shuffled her group of collected boys into, putting them all to actual non magical labor in order to fix it all up right.
Location:
34 Hemlock Way
Sector Four, Siren's Port
001766-Area 6
“Turn on Hemlock from Carriage; Third house on the left.”
Current Residence:
Jinx
Gabriel
Trauma
Claudio
Apollo the cat
Lutz the Haunted Breadmaker
Patrick the mold monster
Brief History:
The house was built in 1942 by a rich eccentric couple who fared an upcoming war. The couple built the house sturdy for not only Darkness protection but protection from others around. Their home was complete with fall out shelter that went unused. In 1972 the couple had both passed on, leaving the home sitting in limbo for several years.
1978 the home was sold to a SERO computer specialist who decked the house out with video surveillance. In 1984 he was put in a wheelchair, thus making it hard to get around a house of many steps. Installing a staircase lift he dealt with this problem simply enough. This man however disappeared in 1989 mysteriously and never to be seen again.
The house set empty until 2000 when a woman bought it because of the stair lift. She lived in the house until 2005, dying in a hospital bed of old age and leaving it to her son. Her son disliked the place so he attempted to sell it. The house stayed furnished, tucking away lots of junk into the attic and was rented out to three other people, all of which complained about ghosts and hauntings.
It set empty until Jinx found it, falling apart and fell in love.
Floor Plans:
.
.
First Floor:
A: Front Door ~ with mudroom/darkness proof entrance. Built strongly with CeeRow Darkness proof glass and proper lining. If the front door is compromised at all, close and lock mudroom door for extra protection.
B: Foyer ~ leading to anopen living room and staircase.
C: Large Lowered Living Room ~ with fireplace. The steps go around the edge of the room, leaving it a wide and spacious area. The far north wall by the small coat closet(f) has a floor length tiled mirror that makes the room seem even larger. Behind four panels of mirror and set into the wall is a small wall safe. The back of the safe is reinforced in the pantry(e).
D: Small bathroom ~ for guests and quick needs. Toilet and sink only.
E: Walk-in Pantry ~ lined with different sized shelves and tables to hold all forms of shelf life foods and other kitchen supplies.
F: Small coat closet ~ For hanging coats and hiding shoes... or other things.
G: Kitchen ~ large stove and oven, refrigerator near the back door, a large two tub sink and a center island made for everything else. The kitchen has two pass over counters that look off into the Dining room, keeping the space open and airy. There is a door with darkness proofing that leads down into the garage and basement.
H: Dining Room ~ a bright and sunny area in the mornings, the dining room has lots of windows and lighting. It has a clear view of the kitchen because of the pass over counters and large open walk through.
I: Lower Deck ~ the kitchen opens up to the back yard deck. There are steps leading to a higher and smaller deck above as well as steps to the side leading to the ground and towards the backyard.
.
.
.
Second Floor:
A: Master Bedroom ~ with fire place! This is clearly Jinx and Gabriel's room.
B: Master bath ~ with the largest tub in the house. His and her sinks as well as a full sized glass door corner floor shower.
C: Walk-in closet ~ also the largest closet in the house with shelves and poles. This is clearly Jinx's personal closet...
D: Sitting hall and steps ~ Just a very small space between hall, steps and bedroom. There is a built in soft bench seat under the large window here, perfect for sitting and reading in the morning sun. Under the bench is a small book shelf for this reason.
E: Bedroom A ~ with small walk in closet. This is clearly the future Nursery/babies room.
F: Bedroom B ~ with small closet. This is Jinx's personal office space. Office, work out and private place. In case of 'guests' it can be used as a guest room as well.
G: Second Floor Bathroom ~ A little nicer then the lower half bath, this one has a small bath/shower and stand alone sink. This is the 'boys' bathroom.
H: Upper deck ~ proper access only from the lower decks though one can open the window of the 'office' and climb out it with relative ease. Smaller then the lower deck with a railing and good look over.
.
.
.
Finished Attic:
A: Finished bedroom C ~ somehow this ended up being both the boys room once again. Trauma and Claudio share this space, though it's more then large enough. It is the largest bedroom in the house but has tilted/pointed ceilings.
B: Unfinished bathroom ~ unable to hold the tub that was bought for it this bathroom is a toilet and stand alone sink only. The tub is actually stored in the corner of the unfinished attic.
C: Unfinished attic space ~ this space has boxes, crates, old painting frames and other dusty knickknacks left over form others before. Most of it is junk but no one has been willing to bother removing it. Trauma seems to enjoy the corner. Claudio jokes about the haunted look of the space. There is one large round wood and frosted glass window in the center looking out into the back yard. You can not see out the glass however. It hasn't been cleaned over the years either.
.
.
Basement:
A: Two car garage ~ you come down the side of the house to the back in order to park under the deck. The ground slopes into the garage with two large doors to open and park cars in. Both doors are properly darkness proofed with stripping and locks. Currently Jinx and Claudio have their Bike and Car parked under here. Subject to flooding during bad weather months and shoveling the snow out in the winter is a pain in the ass.
B: Washer and Dryer ~ there are hook ups for a stacked washer and dryer. This did not come with the house. (Aka Jinx needs to buy one...)
C: Central Heating System ~ thank you computer guy for refitting the house with central heating and air. Too bad it doesn't work properly. Breaks down often!
D: Water Heater System ~ large water heater. Water stored in the tank will make it through the night but anything added to it after night starts will contaminate the water. If the tank is contaminated you have to let the water run for a good 30 minutes before it's usable again. Because of this is it not advised to run water at night.
E: Breaker box ~ Keeps power running to the entire house. The kitchen blows out often if too many appliances run at once, as does the attic.
F: Fire Wood Keep ~ an indoor space left for storing large amounts of lumber for the fireplaces. This keeps the wood dry and safe form darkness and rot. There is a large amount of wood already filling the space, clearly it's been there a while.
G: Wooden Steps ~ to the basement/first floor. These are old and creaky but well made. The door leading to the kitchen has darkness protection, in case the garage is compromised.
H: Hidden 'Panic Room' ~ the door is lost behind a pile of wood. The door is also almost invisible, blending into the stone wall almost perfectly. There is a stone to press in order to open a panel in order to punch in a wall code to open the door. This room has been lost and unknown for ages now. The panic room has some very large computer consuls inside that once monitored all the video cameras of the house, all of which are broken now. A toilet hidden by a shelf and blinds only. War blankets, radios, tools, weapons and cots are stored in here, as well as large barrels of water and different foods. Darkness proof, nearly bomb proof.
Other Issues with the House:
Not In Any Order:
~ The upper floor bathroom was never finished but appeared not to be able to hold the weight of a tub full of water, thus the bathroom was not finished. It is a large and rough bathroom with out tile and only a working toilet and sink.
~ The first to second floor staircase has strange holes in the wall where an electric chair carry was built in and taken out.
~ Most of the doors were missing on the second and attic floors, having been taken off the hinges and stored in the attic space. This is because the previous person who owned the place was in a wheelchair (though she could walk) and thus it was easier to get through to rooms with out doors. Some doors were modified with inner wall sliding doors however, but not many. The attic floors do not have doors at all how ever, as they were never finished.
~ In strange places there are hidden cameras, old ones, tucked into walls and the ceiling. Most of these are out dated and broken. They are very hard to find also, almost blending in perfectly with the house. When remodeling however one might run into one here or there. None of them work anymore.
~ Previous tenets have complained about spirits or ghosts. Especially in the basement. No descriptions other then masculine and mean have been noted. Most of those living in this house use the ghosts as an excuse for why they left. Lights flicker, things move, cars start on their own and sometimes the water works will stop. The only times the ghosts bothers others is when it is upset for some reason.
~ The deck is old, very old. Some spaces are a little less reliable. It would be advisable to remodel it.
~ The master bathroom toilet backs up something horrible. Upon further research and plumbing one might find a small cloth with a ring stuck in the pipes after all this time. curious.
~ If by chance mice or bugs -are- found somewhere, please be advised that you have a darkness proofing failure. This is something that should be searched out and fixed swiftly.
~ The Panic Room: There is the dead and missing body of the SERO computer guy who disappeared ages ago. Paranoia sent him into the room to save himself and his work from 'others' but he ended up trapped in there, having forgot the exit codes. His body lays propped against a wall in old rags. The room has been forgotten, as no one else knew it was there, so no one has ever discovered it.
----
Will:
In case something happens to Jinx the house will default to Trauma, Claudio and Gabriel, in that order.
IF by some wild chance every one of these people listed above go missing the building will be handed over to the Newcomer Fund to do as they please with the request that if after two months go by and none of the above listed have returned the house be used as Boarding.
