So I'm currently trying to figure out how to create my own layout for LJ. Why is it that everyone else makes it look so easy? I have such a horrible time with computers. >_>

What do you mean by journal design? I usually just hit up my favorite layout-makers, find something with a base code that seems to fit my needs (like a lot of times I NEED a sidebar, and one that doesn't fudge up the tags list) and then fiddle with it as needed to make it distinguishable from others, even though base is generic.

mintyapple is a good place to start out for ideas or actual codes to use.

I just basically need a layout code to make my profile and journal look decent at least. I honestly don't understand the layout customization at all.

I changed the layout in my old journal every 3 weeks or so, but only because here on LJ are so many good layout communities, that one can't decide one to take to work over x3
