Nice post. An interesting thing i'm not sure many people outside of the gay scene are aware of is that even within the community there are pockets of privilege. Some gay guys and butch dykes feel lipstick lesbians have it easier because they're freer to be out due to the straight male fantasy; on the flip-side those lesbians feel the archetypal gays have it easier because when they are out they tend to be tolerated on face value and don't need to put up with ignorant men trying to turn them. Meanwhile trannies miss out on many of the rights gays are now gaining, and they also need to put up with the attitude of some gays who believe straight trannies are just self-hating gays who are denying their true gayness. It's all rather silly, and i'm sure similar divisions exist in other marginalized groups too. I guess as humans we just like to feel we got a raw deal. Just some got it rawer than others.
