I really liked it and can't think of any major criticisms, really. One of the best horror films I've seen in a long time, mostly because it wasn't just about big scares (there are a few), it was also about creating a sustained atmosphere and real insight into the characters. I liked the ambiguity of Eli and the overall treatment of vampire tropes, none of which felt silly or cliche.
Was also lucky enough to see this in the theatre, so I missed the horribly translated subtitles of the initial dvd release.

Absolutely one of my favourites of this year. Nothing compares.

By "this year" I meant that I watched it for the first time in '09.

I am not a fan of vampires, and therefore did not enjoy this film.
