Servant's Quarters, Room Five; Late Friday Afternoon.

Jul 27, 2007 11:14

Sitting by her window, Evangeline let out a sigh. She lowered the overly-large book down on her lap and turned her eyes toward the window. It rained too much here, really, she thought, and she also thought about how these next three days before the full moon would seem to drag on forever. She also thought that it seemed strange, really, that it ( Read more... )

Louisiana weather was turning out to be hell for Zim's constitution. He had remembered to bathe in paste this morning. Did so twice even. But as it turns out, paste can only protect one from so much humidity and rainfall before it wears off.

Hence, one distressed little alien running up and down the halls of the Servants Quarters screaming and sizzling in pain. "AAAAAAAAAAAHHH! WHY DOES IT HURT?!"

Heaving a sigh, Evangeline pulled her eyes away from the words of Voltaire, disgruntled. She should have expected this. These next three days would be particularly tiresome if she had to listen to that silly little Irken screaming and carrying on like that. She should see to getting him a muzzle or something.

"You deserve every ounce of that pain!" she shouted back, loud enough to get through the walls. She didn't know what was causing it this time, but she was pretty certain of the truth in her statement. "Hmph." She sucked in a breath and tried to go back to reading.

Zim might have heard her but in any case was too busy with the burning and the sizzling and the horrible, horrible pain to make a proper reply. He did, however, run past her doorway shrieking and looking very wet.

Another heavy sigh released from Evangeline, her shoulders sagging as if having to listen to Zim's shrieking was the equivilant of having to carry the burden of all the world's problems on her little, tiny, lace-decorated shoulders. She looked up from the book again; she laid it flat on her knees as her eyes glanced around the room briefly. What did she have that she could use to get him to just shut up...

A moment later, Evangeline had set aside Voltaire and hopped off the little window seat she'd constructed by the window. She moved to her bookshelf, on a mission, and then went out to the hallway...

And lobbed her superfluously large volume of Shakespeare plays down it, aimed directly at Zim's head. And Evangeline did have a pretty mighty throw on her for such a tiny person. "SHUT UP, you insane little green pile of walking pus!"

Thelma peeked her head in to Evangeline's room, opening the door, if neccessary...

Sourly, Evangeline turned her head toward the opening door. "Bugger off," she told this rather unwelcome intruder. "Don't even have the decency to knock, I see. What? Raised in a barn, were you?" She huffed slightly, turning her frown back to her book. "I'm busy."

"...you can see me." Thelma said, taken severely aback.

Evangeline snorted. "Of course I can," she said, crossly. "What? You think just because you're a ghost you can bounce around all undetected and go breaking and entering into people's private spheres? Please. Do you know who you're dealing with here?" She sighed. Ghosts. If this one started being all emo and woe is my fate because no one can (usually) see me, Evangeline was going to be just pissed.
