DROP THE POETRY, MOTHER F

Okay, lemme say something. I want to share a pair of poems on here; they are, respectively, the opener and closer of my thesis portfolio, and also the chapbook that I'm preparing. Whenever I do post poetry here, it gets ignored. I know all you nice people have lives and can't be buggered to comment on every single entry of every single blogger ( Read more... )

Okay, I have read them, and while I don't have much time to detail my thoughts as below, I have to say I love them both. I'm also so pleased that I'm finally reading good poetry again. (I should show you the stuff one of my old college friends posts on his Facebook. It's ridiculous.)

The thing I love most about this is how none of the language is obvious, but it's still flowing and not alienating to the reader at all.

wow, the second one took my breath away. I read it aloud and twisted my tongue. I got choked up after the Kansas line. that book, truman, kills me. bravo
