Car help!

Apr 11, 2008 21:08

We have failed to go to the ceildhi tonight as upon getting in the car we've found the battery was flat. Slightly more worried as I have no idea why it is flat.

Is there anyone around this weekend with car and know how who could help me jump the thing?

While I have no ability to help you start it I have had cars do this to me in the past. If there is no obvious reason for the battery to be flat, lights left on, car left in damp place for long period, then it is likely to be the alternater which has gone. This is the bit that charges your battery whilst you are driving around. If the battery doesn't recharge once you've started it this is likely. It will need replacing with a new one. Costs about £70 for the alternater depending on your car and then fitting costs. In the past the AA have chanced mine as they don't charge labour costs if you're a member.
