argh! not sure if want!

in other news, the other day I was trying to explain to a friend why I still hold a grudge against Ian McShane, and it basically ended with me shouting 'but Merriman! MERRIMAN!'

It will be different to the books, but surely with the example of The Seeker in front of them, they have a prime demonstration of things that by changing sucks out all the good?

I am hopeful. Sky made 'Moone Boy' and also 'Stella': both of them low-key and very local in feel, and I thought both were excellent. OK, those were comedy-drama rather than fantasy, but if they can capture rural Bucks, Cornwall and North Wales as well as 'Stella' captures the South Wales Valleys they will be on the right track.

It would be brilliant if they made it a 60's-70's setting. I hope they won't modernise, I can't see how that would work.

To quote another adaptation (albeit a good one), 'for me the pain is still too near.' Also I just tried to watch the appalling Mtv adaptation of Shannara and do not trust anyone now. I wish they just wouldn't.
