My kids. They are the light of my life and my reason for existing.

I had my students reading from the Freedom Writers' Book and it was journal entry about a young boy killed in gang violence.
I told everyone they would have to read a paragraph as we were going along. Usually they hate this - they all did it and there was this profound silence in the room. It was so great! I love when they "get" it! It makes me feel good!
