1. Between song rap skits: Good thing, or bad thing. Elaborate on said answer.
Skits between songs in any genre can be sort of bad. I've heard some funny ones, but the majority of them can be really stupid.
2. Which of your many ancestral backgrounds do you most identify yourself with? Follow up question: If you could select just ONE of these as your sole ancestry, which would you select?
Hard question...but I'm going to have to go with my Spanish ancestry. Ditto for if it was my sole ancestry. Yeah Spain.
3. Please put the following rappers/rap groups in order by how much you like each of them. Please explain why: Ludacris, Nas, Jay-Z, Lil Jon + The Eastside Boyz, MC Solaar
Nas - I only have one Nas album (Illmatic), but it's great enough to put him on the top of the list. Amazing lyrically and beat-wise. It's better than I'm making it sound.
MC Solaar - Only own one of his albums, and it's in French, so maybe the lyrics are really crappy, but he's got a good flow and good beats. And he says "M-16" on numerous occasions.
Ludacris - Ludacris has a lot of clever rhymes. He also has his share of bad rhymes. I don't know...I don't own any of his stuff or even heard THAT much of his, so it's hard for me to judge. But "Growing Pains" is a great song.
Jay-Z - I like him less than Ludacris, definitely, and more than Lil Jon...so that's really the only reason he ranks here. Haven't heard too much of his stuff...and the stuff I have heard hasn't blown me away or anything.
Lil and the Eastside Boyz - Lil Jon isn't a rapper, all he does is yell a lot. It's really annoying. But he dances in a pretty funny way.
4. Who would you say are the top 3 slickest people out right now? Give reasons, and if possible, pictures.
Hm. Hard to limit it to three people. It's also hard to differentiate between being slick and otherwise just being cool. It would be a much different list if it was just...cool people.
1) Pharrell of Neptunes fame. Reason: He's a slick guy.
2) Harris Klahr of Q and not U. Reason: He's also a slick guy.
3) Tak Sakaguchi, main character of Versus. Reason: Very slick.
