Why does swearing bother me so much? Hmm, well i kinda think of movies and media as communication, and i also believe that what a person says or writes down shows what their heart is like, so basically it is communication from one person's heart to another, and that is bound to effect the other person.
So yeah, basically, if its swearing in a movie or book or music, then i shrink away from it because it shows the amount of hate we can show without using our fists. And if its from someone i do know, then its like a punch to the stomach because its what their heart is like.
Not to mention the little children and big children that will pick it up...
I havent seen a person go, "Hey guys, im not angry but F off.", because thats a contradiction.

you gotta know that swearing had come from a religious background, and had just slowly changed by replacing God's name with various bodyparts and sex.
mmkay, i see what you mean about using god's name in vain, and i agree with you. but at the same time, the evolution of swearing also means that what it signifies has changed.
i understand why you are offended by the liberal use of god's name, but i reckon that s/f-words have taken on a different meaning now. i mean, i don't think the people who use them intentionally use them in replacement of god's name. they're mostly used as just intensifiers in today's language. potentially offensive ones, but still only intensifiers
( ... )
lol, welp all im trying to say is that swearing, no matter what forms, is still offensive to others in some way or other, therefore it is still much better to do away with everything than to continue accepting it. It is a very pointless act, dont you think? The bible certainly thinks so: Eph 4:29 (KJV) Let no, corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Would you swear?
lol, okay, that example wasnt meant to be an angry-person one. Ignoring that example, do you think that people seem more angry at 'first glance' if they swear more? Anyways, that was really my point, sorry i didnt make it clearer. :)
