The bags are packed. They aren't that many, only a duffel bag and a suitcase or two, along with a large, ancient leather bag filled with who knows what. The problem is getting the bags to their destination. Botan has been carrying the bags for a while now, to the rendezvous point in the Nexus where she was supposed to meet Gaara. She gingerly holds ( Read more... )

Lo and behold: there's Gaara, standing beside the large stone portal that leads to his world. Upon spotting Botan, he uncrosses his arms and goes to meet her. And relieve her from her burden, of course.

"Not too much stuff, see?" She smiles, shrugging her one of her suitcases into his arms. "Just things I couldn't part with."

"You do know that my house is large. You can bring more if you want to." He slings the suitcase over his back and pauses to give her a brief kiss before gesturing for her to hand her the other one.

"It's no big deal. Most of my stuff is junk, anyway." She hands him the other suitcase and sweeps her hair from her face. It's quite messy.

Luckily for the Enlightened One, he gets put back in his rightful spot.

The rest of the evening passes by rather uneventfully, aside from the slight unusualness of having both of them together.

In the morning, however, Botan wakes up. Nothing unusual, except that it's early, and lucky for her, Gaara doesn't seem to wake up. She gets up and goes on the balcony, the early morning wind pulling at her nightie.

Gaara actually is fast asleep. Botan does have a calming effect on him, plus he fell for that sort of cliché-thing people in love sometimes do; he stayed awake to watch her sleep.

But he does start to stirr now that she's not in bed anymore.

She hears a bit of stirring, so she returns inside. She kneels beside the bed, chin on the mattress, watching him wake.

She reaches out to gently brush his cheek.

That caress on his cheek makes him open an eye a notch. This? This is unfamiliar, waking up while someone's watching. It's not unpleasant, Gaara concludes sleepily.

"Good morning," he mumbles, reaching for her to pull her back into bed.
