With that premise it couldn't start anything but cracky, and with those two and their history it couldn't end in anything but angst or sex (well, airport kissing), and I decided to go with the happy ending. Kissing > lonely angsting.

Love the dynamic between the boys. Mark's reaction to Eduardo is to taunt him via press conference, and Eduardo's making up for 20+ years of niceness by destroying things. Genius!

LOVED that analogy about broken things in the end. I don't think that was in the "prompt" version you sent me!

Also you really captured what the draw (at least for me) in this pairing is earlier: Mark hurts Eduardo, is bad for him, but needs him as a voice of reason, as someone who's on his side but will fight him, and Eduardo can't help but want to do the job no-one else can or will.

No, it wasn't, the, ahem, prompt, was only a little over 1k I think, so I've added a lot. And I tried to get some... closure, I guess? I'm glad it works though, I was a bit afraid it was too pasted-on and meta.

I know! It's kind of an 'I want/need and don't want to want/need' thing, but without the demanding-refusing defiance of youth and with both of them willing to work for it just a bit and accept it and the other it could really work.
