I totally understand where you're coming from. I never want to stop being Claire Nienaber and with the family business, it's pretty important that I always remain a Nienaber.
I'm going to take a cue from Brittney Spears on this one. Professionally, she's still Brittney Spears, but to her friends and family, she's Brittney Federline (or whatever).
In times of greatest need, it's best to look to our pop stars. Especially the ones who drive around with babies on their laps.
A) If you change your name to Adams then you are officially tied to Mike and you can't flee if you ever wanted to...
B) Don't get a hypen in your name, otherwise everyone thinks your parents had you out of wedlock and gave you each their name. Let's be serious, every time we see someone with a hypenated name, we all think that they did the nasty (most likely without protection!) and were too lazy to get married.
C) I know someone who have not had the same last name as her spouse and found that life was so much more difficult with so many random things (especially if you have kids, it is a terrible process apparently) that she caved in and changed it under the stress...
D) I seriously would consider that to be the most awesome thing ever. That way you are each making a new last name and no one is really giving up their name....
E) Then Mike would be your man slave.
F) Be like Madonna or Cher and just change your name to Nas. That's it.
p.s. if you DO want to change your name, you should ask alyssa about it, because apparently it is a little more difficult than you might expect. according to this book that alyssa got about changing your name (seriously the whole book is about changing your name and gives you all the forms and stuff) it is relatively simple to change your name when you get married, and less simple if you wait awhile after you are married (sarah ford...) the book itself is kind of a rip off (i think its like $50 or something ridiculous) but alyssa may be able to give you the highlights.
