I'm really sorry to hear you're having such a shit time finding something. Have you looked into getting a realtor to help you out? I know my sister did that a while ago, and ended up renting a decent place. Hell, with your time line, you could probably get yourself on HGTV's "for rent" ;)

I spoke to a realtor and they felt that my budget was too low for them. I am not wanting to go above $1100 if possible. Perhaps I should try speaking to another one though.

I know my sisters budget was under $1100 (she was willing to live in Mississauga, but saw places in T.O proper as well) I can get his info and pass it along if you like

Nice to hear from you.

I completely agree about real estate prices around here. It's just not right. It is so overcrowded and dense, so prices just skyrocket. . .it's not very comfortable. If you go out a lot and take advantage of all the stuff going on, I can see it being worth it, otherwise, no.

I just checked mls.ca and there are some harbourfront condos for rent for less than $1400. Other places, too.

thanks for the links. I actually don't think I can afford anything over $1100 though. All the condos I've come accross are about $1400 so this was a great find! I am going to be pretty broke if I have to pay between $1200 and $1400 a month. It just seems like such a "waste" of money to throw into someone else's pocket.

I'm a friend of Tara, Jeff and Lauren's. I'm sure you've checked already checked but just in case you haven't, I've found www.viewit.ca to be a good site to do apartment searches. Not sure what part of TO you are looking to rent in or what you require but it could be a good place to start and there are a few reasonably priced rentals. Just an idea :)
Cheers,
Katie
