Do your parents still have Irish brogues, or have they lost them over the years?

They still have them. My mother's is fairly strong, and sounds almost scottish in ways. Donegal is fairly close to Scotland geographically.

That's solved my problem that my "Irish accent" and "Scottish accent" occasionally blend into one if I'm not careful when doing them. I'll just claim the accent is from Donegal.
