Omnia Mutantur [The Wake] Nihil Interit

Feb 05, 2012 01:05

Who: Any/all members of the Diamonds.
What: Lindsey's wake/celebration of life party.
When: February 5, 2012
Where: Diamonds ballroom

Lindsey had asked her to have a party. That funerals were too sad. The more cynical part of her wondered if perhaps that had been his final blow, of sorts; as though he could somehow know just how badly his death was going to affect her and how little she would wish to celebrate it like her previous misandry may have indicated.

It had taken her a day or so to remember that really, wakes were meant to celebrate the dead person's life. So really, she was honoring Lindsey's last wish for a party when it was decided that the wake would take place the night before the funeral.

Thus, the Diamonds ballroom looks as though it will be host to a party-- namely, one with copious amounts of alcohol and food and likely not much dancing. One wall seems to be devoted to the portrayal of Lindsey throughout his reign, with photos and portraits donated by various members of the Suit for the night. In one of the side-rooms, the King's body lies in state, and the members of the Suit can each take their time during the night to say their final, personal goodbyes to the King.

It is a night meant for the Diamonds, a night where they would likely cover their true feelings with an exaggerated amount of Diamond shine. A night where they could reminisce about their King and their interactions with him, a night where they could rejoice in the fact that they knew him in life.

This night could be joyous, for him. Tomorrow, in the funeral and after, was when they would truly be able to grieve.

ic, diamonds
