[Good afternoon, Luceti. There is a little girl currently on the move through your village, doing her best to avoid all people and/or things weird, strangers, and potentially dangerous. This by and large means everyone, as the young Amelia doesn't recognize anyone. She's been warned of kidnappers though, and that could mean anyone. The last ( Read more... )

[ Hmm, is that a lonely and maybe lost little girl sneaking around.. Madoka isn't quite sure whether she should speak up and let the girl know that she spotted her or not, but in the end her desire to help out wins over that. ]

U.. um, hello!

[Caught! Amelia stiffens in surprise at first, but then she decides to play it cool. If this person is a kidnapper, Amelia can kick her! She looks tiny enough.]

Hi.

Are you trying to look for something?

[ She still looks a bit awkward, but she tries to smile in an attempt to be helpful. ]

[Amelia nods slowly. She still doesn't trust the stranger! But she seems pretty harmless.]

Yeah. People said there's free food and clothes and stuff.

Hm, that's right! Almost everything you can get here is free, so you can just take what you want.

[ nodnod. ] Do you maybe.. um.. need some help with finding it?

Yeah, that's what that other boy said too. But how can things just be free? Where's it all come from?

[Amelia nods slowly.] Yeah...but don't try anything funny! If you're really a kidnapper or something, I'll fight back. I'm a girl, but I can still hit just as hard as any dumb boy!

O.. oh, I'm not sure either, but.. maybe it's just magic? You know, they made all of that extra stuff using magic!

[ It's good enough of an explanation for a little kid, she figures. ]

A-a-and please don't worry! I'm not a kidnapper at all, I'm a little bit too young for that, right..?

[Maybe another little kid. But Amelia's not so little that she believes in fairytales--princesses who can wish on stars definitely don't exist where she comes from.]

Magic isn't real, lady. Do I look like I'm six?

[Which is also why she doesn't trust this girl just because she looks young. But Amelia will follow anyway. Basic needs win out.]

... Ehehe, sorry. I thought you would still like things like magic.. [ Madoka by now, after all, knows magic is real. At last back home, and in this place too. ]

I always liked stories like that when I was younger.

Believing in magic's just a way to get manipulated and stuff.

[Amelia's seen it happen, and she frowns as she looks down. But this girl does seem like he's trying to help, so maybe she can be a little less harsh.]

My mom used to tell me stories. I liked it when she did.

Storytime your mother is pretty fun, isn't it..? I liked it too. I think there isn't a kid out there who doesn't.

[ She doesn't comment on the first part - it hits too close to home for a casual conversation. ]

[Amelia doesn't notice that the older girl doesn't mention anything about magic anymore. She's still looking down, and thinking about when her mom used to read to her.]

Did your mom make all the different voices?

Of course! [ She giggles, nodding a little at how this conversation is easier, at least. ]

It's more fun when it seems like she's actually using a different voice for all the characters, right? It makes it more real and exciting!
