So I got in a bad bike accident last sunday and ruptured all the bursa in one knee cap which is a fancy name for swell knee. To put it simply, my bag which I had stupidly slung over my arm instead of my shoulder slipped off my arm and jammed into the wheel. I almost caught myself by slowing the bike down but the momentum threw me over the handle

While I am not personally the biggest fan of anarchism, I can completely sympathize with what you are saying. When I began studying Spanish lit., one of the major themes emphasized was the utter inapplicability of North American feminism in Latin America and the rest of the proverbial Third World. Much like the failed hippie movement in Mexico, what works in one country cannot be applied in the exact some way to another. That is tantamount to ignoring the historical reality of the country. On a side note, before 1989, I think the Third World meant any of those countries that did not ally themselves with the First World (capitalism) or the Second World (communism). Nowadays there is not much of an intermediate, so we only have First and Third Worlds. My main concern with North American style feminism is that some of its proponents (like the proponents of any ideology) are so convinced of its universality that they forget its cultural contingence.
