I'm not saying that 'm quitting smoking, but yesterday was 12 days without so much as a puff off of a cigarette - a personal record of which I am very proud.  Last night I took a cigarette out to the office roof deck, and lit up. I took all of three drags before putting it out because it tasted the way an old ashtray smells. Afterword, I had to ( Read more... )

Don't get me wrong. I still have the the urge - when people light up in front of me I want to french-kiss them just to suck the smoke out of their lungs.

That's the sexiest thing i've heard all day!

I'm realizing that I have the will-power to not be anything more than occasional social smoker, but I could go back to a pack a day in 1/2 a second. I wonder if that ever goes away.

Lauren is here right now, and she lit up while we were walking to Sureshot to get cheesecake with Allen, and I commented that I'd totally forgotten she smokes because my two close friends left who still smoke both live on the east coast now. Lovely coincidental timing that, I'd love to be wrong because ideally you will both live to be old cougars with me :)

I want to live to be an old cougar, but the stronger motivation for my is not to be a slave to my vice.

It's so nice that you're finding the time to post a bit again. Good to see your face on my friends list after all this time.

I'm doing my best to reconnect with the world. I've had a few interesting self-revelations of late, and am working to put healthy new behaviors in place of the old ones.

I have accidentally quit for a while before. It was weird when I realized it.

Remind me to have a pack ready to smoke if I am around you any time soon ;)

: P

I've never accidently quit. Other than being sick, I can't remember the last time I went an entire day without smoking. As I've been saying. It is time to reclaim control of the vice.
