Where I'm from, Air Trek belong to a mid-size niche market. Basic pairs are expensive, and advanced or custom models cost more than most people can afford. Casual accidents are rare because the people who use them are normally dedicated enough to use them well. More problems come from people who can't pay for maintenance and repairs than they do from kids who run into walls.
