Curiosity kills the cat [Closed/Active]

Summary: Break and his evil henchmen Watanuki and Ciel investigate these whispering little bugs.

It was really inevitable that Break would get bitten. His self-preservation instinct, if such a thing had ever existed, was long gone. After years of being neglected, wilfully ignored, smothered by his sense of adventure and abused by his curiosity, it had finally thrown its hands up in exasperation and left in search of a more sensible host.
So it was hardly surprising that when a horde of unusually large and vicious-looking beetles with dangerous mandibles, coloured a cautionary red, who were clearly unnatural if the strange whisperings were any indicator... well, his first reaction was to follow them and try to get a closer listen. It was Ciel's misfortune to be stuck with Break; it was almost sunset so it would be unwise to leave him at this point, but Break was not going to be deterred by anything short of divine intervention. A little boy's temper tantrum, however reasonable it might be (and indeed it was more reasonable than Break's curiosity) did not count as divine intervention.
They were taking a bit of a detour, though. Break was curious, but he wasn't stupid. Those mandibles looked quite nasty, so he had decided that they would make a brief stop by the bedroom to find some thick gloves. If he was very very lucky, they would also be able to find Watanuki. The beetles were really fascinating, and Break would appreciate having someone clever along when he investigated them. Ciel was not clever. Besides, they would have to meet at some point, and now was as good a time as any.
"Good evening!" he exclaimed, bursting through the door. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything?" He glanced at Doumeki's bunk, since they had taken to sleeping together lately, but the boy wasn't there. "Oh good, I would hate to be rude."
